About Sherri Allen

Hello Friends,

I’m Sherri. I’m a mixed media artist and avid sketchbook artist in Houston, Tx. My creative journey began in 2021 during the covid pandemic, at the age of 52. Working from home and unable to get out, I picked up a book, The Artist’s Way. That book changed my life. I realized that I had always been called to create and I was finally ready to embrace it. I began drawing and painting and I can’t stop. I’m absolutely addicted to the creative process.

I want this for everyone. I believe that we are all innately creative beings and that through Focus, Practice and Trust we can live the joyful, creative life that we were meant to live.

My work is bold and expressive with little care for perfection! I hope you love it as much as I do!  I’m interested in flowers, still lifes and even animals but I’m especially inspired by women. I’m constantly exploring the mystery and beauty of a woman’s face – imperfections and all.

I’m passionate about drawing and working in sketchbooks as a tool for exploration, creativity, and play. My hope is that I can inspire others to make drawing a part of their daily routine. If you are feeling the call to create I would love to be a part of your journey! You can learn one of my favorite sketchbook practices below by getting my FREE Miracle Morning drawing class or check out my drawing tutorials on Instagram.

I still work full time in the corporate would but I’m creating as much as I can in between meetings!

Love and blessings,

Sherri

Inside My Sketchbook

My sketchbook is my place to explore! It doesn't have to be good (but sometimes it is!) - it just has to be fun and feel good to me. My sketchbook practice helps me clarify what I like and don't like. It's similar to my written journal. I can explore thoughts and feelings, record my travels and simply play. It' a place I can look to see themes in my art and life. Here are some of the things you will find in my sketchbook right now.
